To celebrate the iconic Phoenix
Arrow and the period of its creation, Persol launches the new FILM NOIR EDITION.
Film noir is a sub cathegory of the thriller movies, developed in the U.S during the ‘40s and ‘50s. The main characteristics of this genre are the investigation and the location in a city; we can find also strong contrasts between light and dark, which represent the conflict between good and evil. The characters are usually dark and disquieting figures. Diabolic couples, femmes fatales and assassins in search of conquest. In the noir each character wants to let its evil prevail. Private detectives, reporters and authors are in contrast with them; they narrate these events and get involved themselves.
The Phoenix arrow has been brought to light again from the Persol archives; it is characterized by a strong and masculine design, but also by a graceful line, like the mitic creation from which it takes its name. It was created in the ‘50s and it reminds us of a period when men were real men and the women were dangerously seductive.
This new eyewear collection is made up by two sunglasses and two eyeglasses and each model corresponds to a
character of the noir genre.
The Gangster Persol PO 3072S - An arrogant, proud and chic
model for the bad character of this story, who isn’t afraid of anybody and
anything.
The Femme Fatale Persol PO 3070V - The perfect frame for the
heroine of the noir genre. Beautiful in the day, she becomes a raider at night.
Nobody can resist; she imposes herself. She is impredictable and dangerous.
The Detective Persol PO 3074S - These are the eyeglasses for
the smart, determined and sharp of the scene. He follows the clues shiftily,
without intermission, all day and all night.
The Reporter Persol PO 3073V - The reporter is young, brave
and alert. He made it for the first time. He follows the clues and doesn’t let anything
get away.
