Prada Linea Rossa sunglasses: America's Cup collection

"The America’s Cup is an exclusive trophy and has rarely changed hands in the last 150 years. This is not a sport for the faint hearted. It is not a quest to take lightly or on a whim. It is a fight between sailors from yacht clubs all over the world that desperately want the same thing: get their hands on the Cup..."

Foreword by Sir Peter Blake to the book “Luna Rossa” – 30th America’s Cup (2000)

In April Prada Luna Rossa team started the 34th America’s Cup edition and the brand launched a new eyewear collection to go with the yachtsmen.
The new Prada Linea Rossa collection conveys passion, challenge and adrenalin, that is the DNA of the brand.
The history of the collection is inspired by the materials of the new AC 72, the catamaran that was launched on October 2012 in Auckland, New Zealand. It has mirror hulls and a 40 meters mirror rigid wing.

The new Prada Linea Rossa sunglasses have chrome and matte details that reminds us of the reflections of the watercraft:  the bright and shiny shades of the colours carry the summer vitality of the America’s Cup challenge.

Prada Linea Rossa launched 6 new models for this event, whose names are inspired by the America’s Cup.

Special mirror and polarized lenses enhance the sport attitude of the brand.

Models Reliance (SPS 04NS) and Intrepid (SPS 01LS) have wrapping shapes that protect the eyes from the bright sunlight, especially in water sports.

Three new metal sunglasses are part of the America’s Cup collection.
NEILY (SPS 57OS)  and BENBOW (53PS) stand out for aviator features while SPS 53MS has one unique wrap-around lens.

The brand Prada Linea Rossa also introduces the Nat model (SPS 04OS) that combines technical details with a trendy wayfarer shape.
