Oliver Peoples Sheldrake: the Style of the Stars

The Oliver Peoples brand has always been a favourite among the celebrities of Hollywood and the interest is mutual. The Oliver Peoples brand loves taking inspiration from the movies and in the past years we have seen collaborations with Zooey Deschanel (New girl, Yes man), Robert Evans (producer of Rosemary’s baby, Love story and the Godfather) and Gregory Peck to whom they have dedicated a style to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the premiere’ of “How to kill a mockingbird”.

However the style preferred by the stars to be worn at the red carpet as well as for leisure is the Sheldrake style.

The Sheldrake model is inspired by Andy Warhol and can be found both as sunglasses as well as optical frames.

The sunglasses  and eyeglasses are handsculpted in acetate and the bridge presents a key-hole shape that is quite unique for the market. The visible core-wire within the temple is embossed with the Oliver Peoples logo detailing and the Oliver Peoples plaque is embossed at the temples end.

This style is available with photochromatic glass lenses that automatically lighten or darken depending on the light you are in. A cool detail is that if you breathe on the lens magically the Oliver Peoples logo will appear on the lens, These lenses also provide an anti-reflective coating that reduces the effect of glare and reflective surfaces while an oleophobic coating repels water, dust, sweat and fingerprints.
The Sheldrake style can also be found with mineral glass lenses that helps filter colour and sharpen sight offering a better visual experience. Here too, we can find the anti-reflecive coating along with the oleophobic one.

Oliver Peoples Sheldrake glasses are a hit among some of the most talented actors at this moment like Johnny Depp and Robert Downey Jr.

The Sheldrake glasses are unisex and has been worn by quite a few of the most beautiful starlets of Hollywood such as Jessica Alba and Jennifer Aniston.
